From tales as old as time, as true as they can be, we are all inspired by the enchanting realm, where the beasts lie and faeries fill the sky.
Once upon a time, it all began with childhood stories, beautiful illustrations and enticing music. Now as an adult observer I spend as much time as I can give (plus a little more) creating and walking through my own fairytale. The escapism associated with fairytales is a process I indulge by establishing a relationship with nature. If you walk into the forest or valley deep enough, you will eventually lose all sense of time and place, leaving you with your own emotions, memories and imagination. From my connection with the natural world I recreate my own ideal landscapes. Whether through painting or photography I inspire to create a realm we all can associate with some sense of emotion, mystery and adventure.
You will not see little red riding hood walking through the forest or Snow White dusting an old cottage but you will be presented with a world where all this and much more is possible. A sense of magic, playing on the border of reality.
I am a mid 20’s, British female artist, trying to find my way through ‘adult’ life. I am currently balancing my full time MA at Aberystwyth University and a part time role as a Museum Assistant and Education Assistant for Culture Coventry. I hope to spend my time pushing the boundaries of my talent and building skills to inevitably build a career as an artist and also take on a role in the museum industry.
